Games! Books! Gaming supplies! We want to bring cool, different, fun stuff to everyone. We want families and friends gathered around tables playing our games. We want people howling (either belly laughs or rage, doesn't matter) at our terrible jokes!
We are two guys who love games, with great support from our families and some incredibly talented partners. We're light, agile, and looking to bring you a balance of the familiar, but unique in our offerings. We operate transparently, respond to our customers (as fast as we can...we're two guys with day jobs), and we love to create. We are members of the Philadelphia Game Makers Guild, and look to share our success in a way that makes people thrilled to work with us. We started with a crowd-funded book called The Necronomnomnom, and that project showcases who we are in business. We shoot straight and do what we say we will do. You can check the project out on Kickstarter, and read what our backers said about us in the testimonials here. Our goal is your delight with our products, from the humble and basic to the super-premium.
Tom is a professional Civil Engineer in the field of Land development. (he plays with dirt). He also coaches gymnastics and Tumbling. On top of all that he has launched a game company - Red Duke Games, llc. Tom has been creating games and coming up with ideas for games officially since August 2011. Since that time, he has done a lot of behind the scenes wheeling and dealing (lots of phone calls and email) to create Red Duke Games, llc and move this company forward.
It took a lot of effort to start a game development company, and develop a few of our big game ideas. Their first major success is the One of a Kind - Cookbook of Eldritch Horror - The Necronomnomnom, where Tom had the pleasure of being the "Head Chef" and editor for the book. On the heels of that project, and with the help of his great friend Mike Slater, they are in a position to develop some really amazing games and cool ideas that could bring about some really great gaming experiences... or the apocalypse! Time will tell.
Tom has been an avid Tabletop gamer since college, and sees no reason not to do what he loves to earn a living (income which he will likely use to buy more games...).
Mike Slater rose from the Stygian depths of Corporate America at about the same time Viagra and Google came to be.
Irish Astrologers and Iron Maiden fans remain divided as to whether or not these events are related. In any case, while his creativity and people-first style have lent him much success in that arena, his love for games lead him to jump at the chance to actually start making some for wider audiences than hapless friends and convention goers. Honestly, Tom may have tired of endless testing - and started this whole thing just to shut him up.
Mike is the author of The Necronomnomnom, purveyor of infernally bad puns (the sages speculate that there is in fact a portal directly to the dire Realm of Pun somewhere in his brain...), and designer/mastermind behind games of all sorts. He is a lifelong fan of Things Not of This Earth, and at this point, is ready to loose some of his ideas upon your game space. His shared vision of a lightweight design powerhouse producing tight, fun, high quality games and products for all audences is synergized and catalyzed by the boundless energy of Tom Roache (and Burnhenge, but mostly Tom).
